Come Along, Now

Pueblo at Dawn

Description
This course will challenge your imagination and enforce the fact that anything can be any color, only value is important.

Come in old clothes and expect to get your hands dirty.  We will pour color on paper, let it mix, add plastic pieces and let it dry, to be finished the next day.

  • Day 1 - Pour tech ink for two or three paintings in different techniques.
  • Day 1 - Pour on Collaged paper.
  • Day 3 - Finish paintings.  A lot of this will be negative painting.

Come with a willingness to share, and expectations of doing at least one finished painting.  There are no bad pourings.  There are no mistakes that can't be dealt with.

Express yourself! Each painting will be an original, unlike anything you have done before.

Instructor

Even as a child I loved to draw and paint.  I dabbled in all manner of arts and crafts but didn't have a chance to pursue Fine Art until we retired and moved to Sun City, Arizona in 1987.

There I took classes from Gene Carara, who was a real art teacher.  The classes were very academic.  I learned a lot.  I have also been influenced by Raleigh Kinney, Marilyn DuVal, Elaine Farrar, Ernie Wallace, and others through workshops.  A workshop by Dorothy Drumm in ink painting sparked my creativity in the medium I will be teaching.

I am a member of Southwestern Artists Association, Sonoran Plein Aire Painters, and Lakeview and Palo Verde Art Clubs in Sun City.
